Sarah Palin on the global warming hoax and Copenhagen
Originally from Sarah Palin's Facebook account. Excerpts below.
The president’s decision to attend the international climate conference in Copenhagen needs to be reconsidered in light of the unfolding Climategate scandal. The leaked e-mails involved in Climategate expose the unscientific behavior of leading climate scientists who deliberately destroyed records to block information requests, manipulated data to “hide the decline” in global temperatures, and conspired to silence the critics of man-made global warming....

Policy should be based on sound science, not snake oil.... But while we recognize the effects of changing water levels, erosion patterns, and glacial ice melt, we cannot primarily blame man’s activities for the earth’s cyclical weather changes. The drastic economic measures being pushed by dogmatic environmentalists won’t change the weather, but will dramatically change our economy for the worse.

Policy decisions require real science and real solutions, not junk science and doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood that capitalizes on the public’s worry and makes them feel that owning an SUV is a “sin” against the planet....

- Sarah Palin

Some great points here. For a President that is pretending to "restore" science Obama's doing a lousy job of it.

Why Sarah Palin is right (again)
The alleged journalists who are quickly resorting to the claims that Sarah Palin is "lying" and that her claims have been "debunked" are proving that once again, they lack even the most basic skills necessary to be a competent, ethical journalist.

A quick search of the web finds this about "death panels". Not in theory, but in practice!
The 64-year-old Oregon woman, whose lung cancer had been in remission, learned the disease had returned and would likely kill her. Her last hope was a $4,000-a-month drug that her doctor prescribed for her, but the insurance company refused to pay.

What the Oregon Health Plan did agree to cover, however, were drugs for a physician-assisted death. Those drugs would cost about $50.

The Oregon Health Plan is of course a government run health care program.
The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) provides health care coverage to low-income Oregonians through programs administered by the Division of Medical Assistance Programs (DMAP). Currently, more than 380,000 people each month receive health care coverage through the Oregon Health Plan.

And here's why they graciously offered to help her end her own life:
The cancer went into remission, but in May, Wagner found it had returned. Her oncologist prescribed the drug Tarceva to slow its growth, giving her another four to six months to live.

But under the insurance plan, she can the only receive "palliative" or comfort care, because the drug does not meet the "five-year, 5 percent rule" -- that is, a 5 percent survival rate after five years.

Now everyone who called Palin a liar owes her an apology and needs to explain why language in bills currently being considered that offer "counseling" and "prioritized health care" will not result in similar situations on a federal level.

And for the enablers who try to dismiss the above as an "isolated indicent", it's not!
"I've talked to so many people who have gone through the same problems with the Oregon Health Plan," she said.

Indeed, Randy Stroup, a 53-year-old Dexter resident with terminal prostate cancer, learned recently that his doctor's request for the drug mitoxantrone had been rejected. The treatment, while not a cure, could ease Stroup's pain and extend his life by six months.

Once again we see who the real liars are and it's the liberals and their allies in the MSM!

ETA: Those of you who twitter may wish to tweet this to SenArlenSpecter who is apparently tweeting people that such things are a "myth".

Update: Democrats have removed (from Senate versions of health care bills currently being debated) sections that Sarah Palin found problematic and claiming that in doing so they have proven that she was lying about them. Yeah...that's why they were removed. :P How stupid do they think we are? And yes, we notice they are still in the House version and there's this thing called the "conference committee". Naughty, naughty Democrats!

Update 2: Watch the news story, including the fact that the evil drug company gave the woman the medicine for free after the government twice denied her appeals!

I Still Hate You, Sarah Palin
The Republicans bring a knife to a gunfight, and lose again.

By David Kahane

One of the most terrifying moments of my political life came last summer at the Republican convention in St. Paul. No, I don’t mean seeing John McCain careering around the Xcel Energy Center like Eyegore in Young Frankenstein, his face frozen in a Lon Chaney Sr. rictus grin as he reached across the aisle to his erstwhile friends in the media and got his hand bitten off. Rather, I’m referring to the aftermath of Sarah Palin’s outrageous acceptance speech, which whipped up the Rotary Club delegates into a frenzy of white-boy fury that not even heckling by a brave Code Pink embed could deter. Truly a fascist classic and one that sent shivers down our collectivist spines.

Even worse was the glaze of horror on the phizzes of the assembled heroes of the Mainstream Media. Andrea Mitchell — yes, the very same Andrea Mitchell, NBC News, Washington, whose employer saw no conflict of interest at all when she married then Fed pooh-bah Alan Greenspan — stood there gaping like a frog while the rest of the assembled Finemans and Matthewses and Olbermanns scurried around like roaches when the light gets turned on: What the hell just hit us? For one horrible moment, it looked as if the carefully crafted plans of David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel, George Soros, and the Second Chief Directorate, first department, of the old KGB were about to gang agley.

Not only were we offended at the sheer effrontery of McCain’s pick: How dare the Republicans proffer this déclassée piece of Wasilla trailer trash whose only claim to fame was that she didn’t exercise her right to choose? Where were her degrees from Smith or Barnard, her internships at PETA, the Brookings Institution, or the Young Pioneers? We were also outraged that the Stupid Party had just nominated a completely unqualified candidate nobody had ever heard of, a first-term governor of Alaska whose previous experience consisted of a small-town mayoralty. As opposed to our guy, Barry Soetoro of Mombasa, Djakarta, and Honolulu, a first-term senator nobody had ever heard of, whose previous experience had been as a state senator (D., Daley Machine) in Illinois. After eight long, illegitimate, lawless years of &*^%BUSH$#@! tyranny, how dare you contest this election?

And so the word went out, from that time and place: Eviscerate Sarah Palin like one of her field-dressed moose. Turn her life upside down. Attack her politics, her background, her educational history. Attack her family. Make fun of her husband, her children. Unleash the noted gynecologist Andrew Sullivan to prove that Palin’s fifth child was really her grandchild. Hit her with everything we have: Maureen Dowd of the New York Times, taking a beer-run break from her quixotic search for Mr. Right to drip venom on Sister Sarah; post-funny comic David Letterman, to joke about her and her daughters on national television; Katie Couric, the anchor nobody watches, to give this Alaskan interloper a taste of life in the big leagues; former New York Times hack Todd “Mr. Dee Dee Myers” Purdum, to act as an instrument of Graydon Carter’s wrath at Vanity Fair. Heck, we even burned her church down. Even after the teleological triumph of The One, the assault had to continue, each blow delivered with our Lefty SneerTM (viz.: Donny Deutsch yesterday on Morning Joe), until Sarah was finished.

You know what? It worked! McCain finally succumbed to his long-standing case of Stockholm Syndrome (“My friends, you have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency”), Tina Fey turned Palin into a see-Russia-from-my-house joke, “conservative” useful idiots like Peggy Noonan and Kathleen Parker hatched her, and finally Sarah cried No más and walked away. If we could, we’d cut off her head and mount it on a wall at Tammany Hall, except there is no more Tammany Hall unless you count Obama’s Tony Rezko–financed home in Chicago. And it took only eight months — heck, Sarah couldn't even have another kid in the time it took us to destroy her. That’s the Chicago way!

Yes, my friends, it’s once again time to quote Sean Connery’s famous speech from The Untouchables, written by David Mamet — the lecture the veteran Chicago cop gives a wet-behind-the-ears Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner, back when he was a movie star) while they sit in a church pew. “You want to get Capone? Here’s how you get him: he pulls a knife, you pull a gun, he sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the Chicago way!” If you just think of us — liberal Democrats — as Capone you’ll begin to understand what we’re up to. And we just put one of yours in the morgue.

I don’t know why I’m telling you this, but maybe now you’re beginning to understand the high-stakes game we’re playing here. This ain’t John McCain’s logrolling senatorial club any more. This is a deadly serious attempt to realize the vision of the 1960s and to fundamentally transform the United States of America. This is the fusion of Communist dogma, high ideals, gangster tactics, and a stunning amount of self-loathing. For the first time in history, the patrician class is deliberately selling its own country down the river just to prove a point: that, yes, we can! This country stinks and we won’t be happy until we’ve forced you to admit it.

In other words, stop thinking of the Democratic Party as merely a political party, because it’s much more than that. We’re not just the party of slavery, segregation, secularism, and sedition. Not just the party of Aaron Burr, Boss Tweed, Richard J. Croker, Bull Connor, Chris Dodd, Richard Daley, Bill Ayers, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and Emperor Barack Hussein Obama II. Not just the party of Kendall “Agent 202” Myers, the State Department official recruited as a Cuban spy along with his wife during the Carter administration. Rather, think of the Democratic Party as what it really is: a criminal organization masquerading as a political party.

If you had any sense, you would start using our tactics against us. After all, you have a few lawyers on your side. Sue us. File frivolous ethics complaints against all our elected officials until, like Sarah, they go broke from defending themselves. (David Paterson would be a good place to start.) Challenge the constitutionality of BO2’s legion of fill-in-the-blank czars — none of whom have to be confirmed, or even pass a security check. (Come to think of it, neither did Barry.) Let slip your own journalistic dogs of war, assuming you have any, to find Barry’s birth certificate, his college transcripts, whether he applied to Occidental as a foreign student, and on which passport he traveled in 1981 to Pakistan with his friend Wahid Hamid, for starters.

You might also want to think about interviewing New York literary agent Jane Dystel, who a) contacted the totally unknown Obama in the wake of an adulatory New York Times piece in 1990 and b) got him a $125,000 advance for a memoir that c) he couldn’t write, even after a long sojourn in Bali, which d) got the contract canceled, whereupon e) Dystel got him $40,000 from another publisher, following which f) the book finally came out to glowing reviews and g) Obama fired her. Wouldn’t she have an interesting story to tell?

Of course, you won’t. You’re too nice, too enamored of history and tradition to realize that the rules have changed. Remember, I live and work in a town where, “Hello, he lied,” isn’t a joke; we men of the Left are perfectly comfortable lying, cheating, and stealing — hello, Senator Franken! — in order to attain and keep political power. Not for nothing is one of our mottos, “By Any Means Necessary.” You see, we’re the good guys, and for us the ends always justify the means. We are, literally, shameless, which is why Bill Clinton is now a multi-millionaire and Eliot Spitzer is already on the comeback trail.

In Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, “the fourth rule is: Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.” This is the book that “Reset” Rodham (what ever happened to her?) and BHO II grew up reading and continue to live by. If you don’t understand that that’s the way we see you — as the enemy — then you’re too dumb to survive. Remember that for us politics is not just an avocation, or even just a job, but our life. We literally stay awake nights thinking up ways to screw you. And one of the ways we do that is by religiously observing Alinsky’s Rule No. 4.

Did Sarah stand for “family values”? Flay her unwed-mother daughter. Did she represent probity in a notoriously corrupt, one-family state? Spread rumors about FBI investigations. Did she speak with an upper-Midwest twang? Mock it relentlessly on Saturday Night Live. Above all, don’t let her motivate the half of the country that doesn’t want His Serene Highness to bankrupt the nation, align with banana-republic Communist dictators, unilaterally dismantle our missile defenses, and set foot in more mosques than churches since he has become president. We’ve got a suicide cult to run here.

And that’s why Sarah had to go. Whether she understood it or not, she threatened us right down to our most fundamental, meretricious, elitist, sneering, snobbish, insecure, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders bones. She was, after all, a “normal” American, the kind of person (or so I’m told) you meet in flyover country. The kind that worries first about home and hearth and believes in things like motherhood and love of country the way it is, not the way she wants to remake it.

What you clowns need, in other words, is a Rules for Radical Conservatives to explain what you’re up against and teach you how to compete before it’s too late. Luckily, since I care about money even more than I care about politics, I have just such a book in the proposal stage, currently making the rounds of various publishers, assuming any of them are wise enough to take me up on it.

And, yes, this time it really is personal.

And yet there are still Republicans out there thinking we should "reach across the aisle". The only thing we should reach across the aisle with is a nice card telling them to enjoy their unplanned retirement. :P

Ah, you can always count on liberals to have no class.
Rich Sanchez says that Governor Palin is resigning because she's pregnant. Erik Nelson spewed a vile piece that was quickly taken down at the Huffington Post. But I'll reprint it here because people saved it before that happened.
In Sarah Palin's resignation announcement she complained about the treatment of her son Trig who always teaches her life lessons. She said that the "world needs more Trigs, not fewer." That's a presidential campaign promise we can all get behind. She will be the first politician to actually try to increase the population of retarded people. To me, it's kinda like saying the world needs more cancer patients because they teach us such personal lessons.

Her first act as President: To introduce a Pre-K lunch buffet that includes lead paint chips. Sort of a Large HEAD-START Program.

She will then encourage women to hold off on pregnancies until their 40's just to mix up some chromosomes.

She now is in favor of abortion only in case of diploid birth.

Her policies will increase jobs because Wal-Mart is building new stores each day and someone has to be the greeter.

This will lead to smaller government because fewer Americans will have the cognitive ability to hold a government job.

There's more, of course. Suffice it to say that hypocrisy doesn't even begin to cover the hatred that the left unleashes on anyone who dares oppose them.

Well, that was unexpected. I'm sure the rabid left will crow that they successfully drove Governor Palin from the playing field. Of course if Republicans did anything like that it would be held up as proof that they were women hating, minority hating thugs.

I suspect we'll know "the rest of the story" in time.

In any event Sarah Palin has our thanks for leading the fight against socialism. I hope this is not the end of her career in politics.

Governor Palin says she'd come out ahead in a run against Obama
Okay, it's a play on words because she really means "running" and not politics. It's from a story in Runner's World.

Which, I might add, doesn't have any unsubstantiated claims in it. Oh, and speaking of unsubstantiated allegations, does this sound like someone who is obsessed with their own fame and appearance?
When I run, I'm totally incognito because I'm not wearing the trough full of makeup. I can go running through a mob of tourists and they don't recognize me.

Vanity Fair must be pretty embarrassed to have been outclassed by Runner's World.

And speaking of being outclassed, here's a tip for Katie Couric: when you ask a specific question you get a specific answer:
[Palin] ...You know, [former RW columnist] George Sheehan really could articulate what running means in terms of applicability to life. During the campaign, when people asked me about my favorite authors, I said C.S. Lewis, John Steinbeck, and Dr. George Sheehan, and people would look at me, these reporters, like who in the world is that. But his books and columns so inspired me 10, 15, 20 years ago, and still do. I remember what he wrote about applying the lessons of running to relationships and families and businesses and, in my case, running a state. He was a brilliant man.

[RW] Can you think of some specific passages you remember or lessons learned from his work?

[Palin] I remember reading one of his columns about the beauty of where he was running that day. And I thought how lucky I am to be in a place that has these protections of our environment and that has stuck with me ever since—to not take for granted that Alaska has such beauty to offer

So yeah, apparently Couric is the only "journalist" who was never able to figure out a way to get Governor Palin to talk about her favorite authors. :D

Another anti-Palin hit piece from the MSM
This time in Vanity Fair.

The author of this alleged piece of journalism doesn't cite a single source. That's all you need to know about alleged journalist Todd Purdum and what he set out to achieve with what only be called a libelous, hate-filled hit piece masquerading as journalism.

Purdum tips his hand by using such obviously false constructs as claiming that multiple people looked up personality disorders in a book instead of just doing a web search. This is part of a heavy-handed attempt to link her to Richard Nixon, the "great Satan" of liberals who love to portray him as a psychotic.

Once again liberals project their own hate and psychological foibles onto others and claim that since they believe it, it must be true.

If I were Governor Palin I'd sue. She may be a public figure but the complete lack of cited sources and statements that say the opposite from people who are willing to go on the record is proof of malicious intent as far as I am concerned.

This is just more evidence that the left fears Governor Palin and will do anything, no matter how unethical or even illegal, in order to destroy her political career.

Is David Letterman dangerous to children?
The assault on the Palin family continues. The left just can't stop the sexist (and now) perverted attacks on Governor Palin and her family.

David Letterman, alleged entertainer, has made some sick attempts at "jokes", including stating that Governor Palin looks like a "slutty flight attendant" and that Palin's daughter was raped by Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees.

Governor Palin and her husband Todd have issued statements condemning Letterman.
"Any 'jokes' about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."

- Todd Palin

"Concerning Letterman's comments about my young daughter (and I doubt he'd ever dare make such comments about anyone else's daughter): 'Laughter incited by sexually-perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/NY entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands - that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.'"

- Governor Sarah Palin

Way to stay classy, liberals!

It should be obvious even to the most fervent deniers that liberals are determined to attack Governor Palin until she gives up politics. The alleged "feminists" are of course nowhere to be found because they don't come to the defense of anyone who isn't politically aligned with the left.

Remember when the MSM nodded in agreement with Obama when he said his family was off limits? Hypocrisy and liberalism are becoming synonymous.

Governor Palin 14 for 14 in defeating trumped-up ethics charges
I think we all know which party is behind these trumped-up charges, don't we?
The accusations made news, but with another dismissal of an ethics charge last week against Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice-presidential nominee has quietly been cleared of every ethics complaint filed since the torrent of allegations began in 2008.

Mrs. Palin, who became a target of such complaints after being named Sen. John McCain's running mate, is 14-for-14 in fighting off the complaints. She's been cleared of 13 charges by the independent State Personnel Board and of another complaint by the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Of course, all you'll hear from the left is that she has been "charged with more than a dozen ethics complaints".

I think we all know why they are so afraid of her!

Update: hot off the mud-slinging wire: leftists accuse Palin of plagiarizing Newt Gingrich. Newt says the claim is silly.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s camp said Monday allegations that Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin plagiarized a column Gingrich co-authored four years ago are “just silly.”

“I’m thrilled if Sarah Palin used a Newt Gingrich idea from an op-ed, or speech, or column or whatever,” Gingrich spokesman Rick Tyler told POLITICO. “[Gingrich’s] response to people repeating his ideas has always been good.”

On Saturday, Huffington Post blogger Geoffrey Dunn accused Palin of lifting passages from a column Gingrich co-authored with Craig Shirley in November 2005. Palin twice referenced Gingrich in her remarks, but Dunn claimed she did not give enough credit. Dunn’s biography on the site says he is writing a book about Palin that is due to be published by Macmillan/St. Martin’s Press in 2010.

Gee, the accuser has a book to sell! Quelle surprise! I bet it is full of all the debunked charges against her but not the outcomes!

Governor Palin will not run for the Senate
This is great news! Governor Palin is in a much stronger position to run for President as a governor than should would be as a new Senator. Republicans like their candidates for President to be a little more experienced than a two-year Senator. (Snark intended!)

As the head of a state government she packs a much more powerful policy punch. A new Senator, especially in a minority party, would be able to achieve little of note.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin plans to raise money for U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski's re-election campaign, a move Palin's camp says should end speculation the governor is eyeing the senator's seat.

I'm thinking by 2012 Palin's Alaska is going to be in much better shape than just about any other US state. That would position her well to run against the Obamanation.

Not one of us?
Thomas Sowell makes a lot of the same points I did in my earlier post about how the elite (on all sides) judge candidates not on the content of the character but on how they appear on the outside.
With Governor Palin, it is just the opposite. The conservative intelligentsia who react against her have remarkably little to say that will stand up to scrutiny. People who actually dealt with her, before she became a national figure, have expressed how much they were impressed by her intelligence.

Governor Palin's "inexperience" is a talking point that might have some plausibility if it were not for the fact that Barack Obama has far less experience in actually making policies than Sarah Palin has. Joe Biden has had decades of experience in being both consistently wrong and consistently a source of asinine statements.

Governor Palin's candidacy for the vice presidency was what galvanized grass roots Republicans in a way that John McCain never did. But there was something about her that turned even some conservative intellectuals against her and provoked visceral anger and hatred from liberal intellectuals.

Perhaps the best way to try to understand these reactions is to recall what Eleanor Roosevelt said when she first saw Whittaker Chambers, who had accused Alger Hiss of being a spy for the Soviet Union. Upon seeing the slouching, overweight and disheveled Chambers, she said, "He's not one of us."

"Not one of us." Such xenophobia might have been expected back in FDR's days but after the recent election of Barack Obama you would think the intellegista, at least, would have shed their bigoted ways. Isn't this the day they've always said they wanted to arrive?

Instead we get "cartoons" of Governor Palin being raped and beaten, Governor Jindal compared to Bob Denver's character on "Gilligan's Island" and anyone who notes this put to the same sort of ridicule. Anything except...addressing what these people actually have to say.

The point is, of course, to get people to dismiss those who are "not one of us" out of hand; without ever having examined what they actually have to say about the issues.

When it comes to Governor Palin and Governor Jindal, their Reaganesque message of American self-reliance is especially dangerous in an age where socialism is being forced upon the populace with scare tactics. Letting voters pause and consider why the traits that served us so well for more than 200 years should be discarded for the failed policies of socialism might just result in mass demonstrations in the streets. And we can't have that, can we?

AP defends false, unsubstantiated "stories" about Governor Palin and her family
In an editorial disguised as a real news story AP writer Rachel D'Oro editorializes that Governor Palin should just shut up and sit down when it comes to false and unsubstantiated "news" stories about her and her children.

D'Oro asserts that it's okay because it happened to another GOP family:
It's not unprecedented. The children and spouses of high-profile politicians always draw attention.

Early in President George Bush's first term, his twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara, made headlines after an embarrassing run-in with the law for underage drinking.

Completely ignoring the fact that Governor Palin is correct in noting that when Democrats tell the MSM their kids are off limits the MSM obeys. There haven't been any false, unsubstantiated rumors about the Clinton or Obama kids bandied about the news services.

Rachel D'Oro is simply a liar.
