Is the honeymoon over?
The media remembers where it left off with President Bush.

Can it be that the honeymoon is over? I won't hold my breath! I think the media is not only well aware of the double standards it operates under but also that it is corrupt to the point where it thinks the ends justify the means.

AP desperately tries to rescue the Church of Climate Change
AP, in an obviously biased piece, desperately tries to rescue the Church of Climate Change from the facts.

After going to great lengths to claim that people who cite the evidence that the Earth has not warmed over the past 10 years, the authors admit that it hasn't:
Grego produced three charts to show how choosing a starting date can alter perceptions. Using the skeptics' satellite data beginning in 1998, there is a "mild downward trend," he said.

Of course, they then go on to claim that the facts are "deceptive". Why? Because of the time frame.

Ah, but the time frame is what the global warming hoaxers have been fudging all along!

Of course, the Church of Climate Change is cited numerous times, with blatant lies proffered as accepted fact:
"To talk about global cooling at the end of the hottest decade the planet has experienced in many thousands of years is ridiculous," said Ken Caldeira, a climate scientist at the Carnegie Institution at Stanford.

Reliable records for temperature only go back about 150 years or so. Anyone trying to make a claim about "many thousands of years" is either lying or a quack.

Anyone agreeing with those who accurately note that the Earth has not warmed appreciably in the past few years are quoted to make it seem like they are agreeing with the premise that any non-warming is a "deceptive" claim.
"It pretty much depends on when you start," wrote John Christy, the Alabama atmospheric scientist who collects the satellite data
that skeptics use
. He said in an e-mail that looking back 31 years, temperatures have gone up nearly three-quarters of a degree Fahrenheit (four-tenths of a degree Celsius).
The last dozen years have been flat, and temperatures over the last eight years have declined a bit, he wrote.
(Emphasis mine.)

In other words, the "skeptics" are right: the claims of the global warming hoaxers about inexorable climbs in temperature have been proven to be false. Remember: people who debunk the global warming hoax do not have to prove an opposite theory, they merely have to debunk the hoaxer's theory about temperatures and CO2.
Bob Carter, a paleoclimatologist from Australia, notes that the earth also had strong global warming between 1918 and 1940. Then there was a long cooling period from 1940 to 1965. He points out that the current warming started 50 years before cars and industries began spewing consequential amounts of CO2. Then the planet cooled for 35 years just after the CO2 levels really began to surge. In fact, says Carter, there doesn’t seem to be much correlation between temperatures and man-made CO2.

The article also glosses over the fact that the global warming hoaxers have stopped using the more reliable satellite data because it confirms the cooling trend (something the hoaxers refer to as a "cooling bias", as if it were a bad thing). By only using the less-reliable ground stations (subject to island heating affects from cities) the hoaxers are all but admitting that their theories cannot stand up to rigorous scientific examination.

And now AP is admitting that, too.

ETA: There are charts of the data which demonstrate the "trends". The purple and dark blue trend lines are specifically what people have been pointing to as flaws in the global "warming" crowd's theories. That is, none of their theories or models anticipated these trends. So the Church of Climate Change, instead of addressing this valid criticism of its dogma, instead creates a "straw man"—global cooling—and then attempts to "knock it down", as if it has debunked critics of the global warming hoax.

Obama administration tries to shut out Fox News
Apparently even the MSM has reached its limit for tolerating the Obama administration's attempts to circumvent the Constitution.

This time the administration attempted to shut out Fox News from interviews of administration officials. To their credit, the rest of the MSM got together and told the administration that this was one "general welfare" abuse too many and they would not stand for it. The administration backed down (this time) but you know their war against Fox News is still going on.

I'm betting their radical FCC Chairman will be the next person to take shots at Fox News. Also look for the administration to pressure cable and satellite networks carrying Fox News.

After all, it's really, really bad for this administration to know that the truth is out there—and its on Fox News!

Speaking about speaking for people
I was amused to see breathless headlines in the MSM today about how people like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck has "Republicans" "worried".

I supposes a "Republican" might be worried if they have bought into the liberal agenda for this country, because they know they will lose their base of support in the Republican Party as soon as someone like Rush or Glenn gets wind of it.

But the vast majority of Republicans remember that it was voices like Rush Limbaugh who helped spread the conservative message in the midst of the Clinton administration and the Democrats previous attempt to socialize the American economy. The reward for their efforts back then? Why, they received "majority maker" awards from the Republican Party for helping them win historic victories in 1994. They also were a factor in the hundreds of elected officials who switched from Democrat to Republican in the 1980s and 1990s.

So when the MSM says that certain people in Washington are "worried" about people like Rush and Glenn, I believe that part, but not the part about who is worried!

Why are liberals so quick to attack speech they don't believe in? Don't they remember that the key to a free society is that everyone is allowed to have their say, even people you don't agree with. Just more evidence that to a liberal, freedom of speech means they get to talk and you get to listen!

The WSJ compares MSM reporting of unemployment for Obama and Reagan
Not surprisingly the coverage of similar unemployment numbers was radically different. Almost entirely negative for Reagan and positive for Obama.

Again, no one should be surprised by the bias in the MSM. Indeed, it was this very bias that led me to start looking up the real facts to counter their myths about Ronald Reagan.

Divide and conquer?
With the rise of Glenn Beck some liberals are sensing...opportunity. The opportunity to divide conservatives and then conquer them, that is.

So you get headlines like Glenn Beck vs. Rush Limbaugh in the MSM.

As Rush tried to explain, though, it's not that simple nor is it going to work. Limbaugh and Beck speak to different groups and are pushing on different social levers. Limbaugh speaks to core conservative values and focuses on the long-term. Beck is speaking to populist elements across parties and is focused on doing something right now—today!

There is every reason why the two should work together and in concert. The people backing Obama and the latest push for socialism have a lot of momentum. Even if you stop 90% of their agenda it still moves us 10% closer to a socialist state.

If someone were to ask me which is better, or more influential, or what have you I would reply that it is not a choice of either-or. It's nice to have both! Not to mention the other culture warriors out there doing battle against evil: Thomas Sowell, Sean Hannity, Neal Boortz, Michelle Malkin, etc. (Too many to mention!) They all have their strengths and weaknesses and as the saying goes: the whole is more than the sum of its parts!

Don't let the left trick you into thinking you can't have it all. ;)

What scandal?
The MSM keeps pretending the ACORN scandals don't exist.

Hey, even the Senate has acted by cutting off funding for ACORN. How long will the MSM pretend that there's no there, there?

Update: How the liberal media has decided to spin the scandals. I lol'd @ the notion that ACORN is a "poverty rights group".

Ignorance is bliss?
Being part of the MSM means ignorance is bliss. Specifically:

Ignoring the fact that 1-2 million people came to D.C. to protest policies you agree with.

Ignoring scandals about ACORN because you think the ends justify the means.

Ignoring the fact that Joe Wilson "spoke truth to power" because it came at an inopportune time.

Ignoring opinion polls that show a majority of Americans oppose the Democrat plans for health care.

Don't worry, MSM operators. You keep ignoring us and we'll keep ignoring you! Have fun with those declining market shares! :D

Obama triples deficit; claims Bush made him do it
I can't decide which is more pathetic: Obama's determination to triple the deficit or his stance that Bush made him do it.

Then again, neither measures up to the level of pathetic that is the MSM in their failure to note that Obama and the Democrats all voted for all this spending this year, after Bush left office.

Speaking of the MSM, where are the headlines about out of control violence in Iraq and the rising death toll in Afghanistan?

A question for Chris Matthews
Do you routinely abandon your Constitutional rights or is just a special thing you do for Obama?

The problem isn't guns, it is the way the MSM fawns over people who attempt to kill (Republican) Presidents.

Perhaps if people like Matthews expressed as much contempt for people like Squeaky Fromme as they do for people like William Kostric then guns in the proximity of a President wouldn't be such a concern.

Oh, and I saw your "interview" with William Kostric and it is you who came off looking like a hate-filled, deranged man incapable of determining right from wrong, not William Kostric.

Why Sarah Palin is right (again)
The alleged journalists who are quickly resorting to the claims that Sarah Palin is "lying" and that her claims have been "debunked" are proving that once again, they lack even the most basic skills necessary to be a competent, ethical journalist.

A quick search of the web finds this about "death panels". Not in theory, but in practice!
The 64-year-old Oregon woman, whose lung cancer had been in remission, learned the disease had returned and would likely kill her. Her last hope was a $4,000-a-month drug that her doctor prescribed for her, but the insurance company refused to pay.

What the Oregon Health Plan did agree to cover, however, were drugs for a physician-assisted death. Those drugs would cost about $50.

The Oregon Health Plan is of course a government run health care program.
The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) provides health care coverage to low-income Oregonians through programs administered by the Division of Medical Assistance Programs (DMAP). Currently, more than 380,000 people each month receive health care coverage through the Oregon Health Plan.

And here's why they graciously offered to help her end her own life:
The cancer went into remission, but in May, Wagner found it had returned. Her oncologist prescribed the drug Tarceva to slow its growth, giving her another four to six months to live.

But under the insurance plan, she can the only receive "palliative" or comfort care, because the drug does not meet the "five-year, 5 percent rule" -- that is, a 5 percent survival rate after five years.

Now everyone who called Palin a liar owes her an apology and needs to explain why language in bills currently being considered that offer "counseling" and "prioritized health care" will not result in similar situations on a federal level.

And for the enablers who try to dismiss the above as an "isolated indicent", it's not!
"I've talked to so many people who have gone through the same problems with the Oregon Health Plan," she said.

Indeed, Randy Stroup, a 53-year-old Dexter resident with terminal prostate cancer, learned recently that his doctor's request for the drug mitoxantrone had been rejected. The treatment, while not a cure, could ease Stroup's pain and extend his life by six months.

Once again we see who the real liars are and it's the liberals and their allies in the MSM!

ETA: Those of you who twitter may wish to tweet this to SenArlenSpecter who is apparently tweeting people that such things are a "myth".

Update: Democrats have removed (from Senate versions of health care bills currently being debated) sections that Sarah Palin found problematic and claiming that in doing so they have proven that she was lying about them. Yeah...that's why they were removed. :P How stupid do they think we are? And yes, we notice they are still in the House version and there's this thing called the "conference committee". Naughty, naughty Democrats!

Update 2: Watch the news story, including the fact that the evil drug company gave the woman the medicine for free after the government twice denied her appeals!

It's time to play "spot the party affiliation"!
You know the drill, identify the Democrats in the following "news" story:
Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt (R-Ocean), Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano, Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell and Jersey City Council President Mariano Vega are among those already brought to the FBI building in Newark. Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini has also been arrested.
.
Yes, it is somewhat of a trick question. The solution, as usual, is that the Democrats are the ones who are not identified by party! Party mention for Democrats, if used, gets buried deep into the story.

Thanks once again to the MSM for dragging down the profession of journalism to levels enjoyed in most totalitarian states.

Ah, you can always count on liberals to have no class.
Rich Sanchez says that Governor Palin is resigning because she's pregnant. Erik Nelson spewed a vile piece that was quickly taken down at the Huffington Post. But I'll reprint it here because people saved it before that happened.
In Sarah Palin's resignation announcement she complained about the treatment of her son Trig who always teaches her life lessons. She said that the "world needs more Trigs, not fewer." That's a presidential campaign promise we can all get behind. She will be the first politician to actually try to increase the population of retarded people. To me, it's kinda like saying the world needs more cancer patients because they teach us such personal lessons.

Her first act as President: To introduce a Pre-K lunch buffet that includes lead paint chips. Sort of a Large HEAD-START Program.

She will then encourage women to hold off on pregnancies until their 40's just to mix up some chromosomes.

She now is in favor of abortion only in case of diploid birth.

Her policies will increase jobs because Wal-Mart is building new stores each day and someone has to be the greeter.

This will lead to smaller government because fewer Americans will have the cognitive ability to hold a government job.

There's more, of course. Suffice it to say that hypocrisy doesn't even begin to cover the hatred that the left unleashes on anyone who dares oppose them.

palin red leader
Another anti-Palin hit piece from the MSM
This time in Vanity Fair.

The author of this alleged piece of journalism doesn't cite a single source. That's all you need to know about alleged journalist Todd Purdum and what he set out to achieve with what only be called a libelous, hate-filled hit piece masquerading as journalism.

Purdum tips his hand by using such obviously false constructs as claiming that multiple people looked up personality disorders in a book instead of just doing a web search. This is part of a heavy-handed attempt to link her to Richard Nixon, the "great Satan" of liberals who love to portray him as a psychotic.

Once again liberals project their own hate and psychological foibles onto others and claim that since they believe it, it must be true.

If I were Governor Palin I'd sue. She may be a public figure but the complete lack of cited sources and statements that say the opposite from people who are willing to go on the record is proof of malicious intent as far as I am concerned.

This is just more evidence that the left fears Governor Palin and will do anything, no matter how unethical or even illegal, in order to destroy her political career.

Untimely lies
Alleged journalist Kevin O'Leary tells a few whoppers in his story about the current fiscal mess California finds itself in. Like a good little liberal robot he repeats the myth that is being spread by the left: that Proposition 13 (passed 30 years ago) is to blame for all of it.

Gosh, just what is this monstrous "Proposition 13"?

Why, it was a proposal that Californians voted on that made future tax hikes subject to a 2/3 vote in order to be passed.

That's it?

That's it.

No edicts to kill women, children, the elderly, the poor, minorities, glbts, etc?

Nope.

So..."why is it a problem?", you ask? Well, it's not! The liberals are just whining because they can't convince 2/3 of the state legislatures (who are being held "hostage" by their...constituents!) that tax hikes are a better way to solve the current problem than, say, spending cuts.

About now you must be thinking, "but I and every other household I know of cuts spending when income goes down." Yes, yes we do. But leftists believe that government is special. So special it deserves your money even when is hasn't earned it and (especially) when it has spent it so foolishly it finds itself in debt.

Not content with lying about Proposition 13 and the current fiscal crisis California finds itself in, O'Leary also tosses in some lies about Social Security being "assaulted" by "conservatives", Ronald Reagan being evil (what else?) because he outed welfare queens" (Dorothy Woods, anyone?) and whether the state should step in with guaranteed incomes for people who either can't work or choose not to work because money would be falling from the sky if those evil conservatives would simply agree to be taxed more.

O'Leary also fails to inform readers why Proposition 13 passed in the first place: because inflation and taxes tied to inflation (like property taxes) were eroding the wealth and incomes of people so quickly in the 1970s that they were getting poorer even while they made more money. To stop such insanity they made automatic tax hikes a thing of the past. And wouldn't you know it...California boomed for more than two decades before this allegedly caused a problem. And with that boom came...higher spending. Not just on residents and for residents but also on illegal aliens and for illegal aliens. What, O'Leary didn't mention that? I am shocked, shocked I say!

All in all, a typical article in a mainstream media publication! It states a conclusion that can't be supported by the facts, lies about the issues surrounding the matter, lies about more issues the author wishes to rant about and then tosses in some unrelated anecdotes in an attempt to pursued you by appealing to your emotional side.

That's pretty much the antithesis of real journalism.

liberalism kills liberty dead
What do we make of this wave of liberal "fantasy" raping of non-liberal women?
Whether it is in print or on TV why are some liberals fixated on the idea of non-liberal women getting raped?

We've seen the usual scumbags post the usual "cartoons" and "jokes" depicting non-liberal women as used sex objects but recently it has gone "mainstream" with Playboy and David Letterman giggling over the prospect of non-liberal women, including minors, getting raped. (And in some cases, "knocked up".)

Certainly a measure of hate runs through many liberal memes about non-liberals. Outraged that someone dare hold opinions that differ from theirs, the originators of these hate-memes twist logic and reason in order to make the victims of their ill-conceived attacks suffer all manner of imagined indignations.

It would be nice if the calmer elements on the left would decry these attacks as vigorously as non-liberal sources attack unreasonable attacks from more extreme non-liberal sources but this seems to be yet another source of hypocrisy and double standards on the left. Hate is only acknowledged when it allegedly comes from non-liberal sources.

omg
She's getting 1/10th the scrutiny that a Republican nominee gets
And she's basically getting free passes on statement that if they were made by a Republican nominee would have the MSM screaming for rejection in page one stories.

Yet...some people seem to think she's being unfairly judged. What's up with that?

The time to question her is before the confirmation vote, not after. Most of the things I have seen make me want to delve a bit deeper to find out her exact positions on issues. There are a couple of things I disagree with (such as her decision in a case (Didden) allowing government extortion—which the Supreme Court will actually hear quite soon) but if she is actually telling the truth when she claims to believe that the Constitution "means what it says" then I don't see any reason not to confirm her....

After she answers some questions.

It's remarkable that the left and the MSM claim that by questioning her or opposing her nomination Republicans "risk alienating Hispanics". Really? Did Democrats "risk alienating blacks" when they had a tantrum over Thomas' nomination? Did they risk alienating Italians when they criticized Scalia? Liberals and their double standards!

And speaking of double standards, if someone like Roberts had said that being a white male made him wiser than (say) a Hispanic female he would have been toast. And you know it!
