franken steals election
Coleman concedes
It may not be ironic that a professional liar and personal attack artist has become a politician and won a seat in the Senate. Indeed some would argue that Al Franken is merely "rising" to his potential in that field.

It is however, a sad day for America. That such a vile piece of human scum is representing good, honest people is a tragedy.

Newly minted as a Senator, Franken is already one of the worst politicians ever. Born in scandal, his political career will surely end that way as well.

It's "official": Franken steals election
Democrats in Minnesota have stopped counting. They've manufactured enough votes to claim that Franken has won.

And so democracy dies a little more.

The Franken candidacy alone was enough to make US politics the object of ridicule. This will simply make it even more so. That such a liar and miscreant could achieve this infamous feat speaks volumes about the state of the Democrat Party and the level of corruption in Minnesota.

It's a sad day for democracy and an even sadder day for the United States.

A shocking story of racial hatred and violence after a political choice is voiced
I'm sure the story seems old for some. Blacks and whites not just disagreeing to disagree, but students being verbally harassed and beaten (by allegedly "outside" agitators) for expressing their political views.

Only this isn't the 1950s south. This is the 21st Century liberal America.

If you have the courage of your convictions then you don't mind when someone disagrees. Those that resort to violence and hatred when faced with disagreement are exposing their own doubts about their beliefs.

I won't hold my breath waiting for this to be labeled a "hate crime" by the MSM (if they acknowledge it at all) or for the college administration calling this an outrage and expelling any students involved or campus-wide demonstrations against hate.

Being a liberal means never having to say you are sorry.

Ah, bureaucracy!
Courtesy of Neal Boortz:
A BUREAUCRAT AT HER FINEST

The head of emergency management at the Minnesota Department of Transportation has lived a leisurely life ... thanks to tax payer dollars. In fact, even when the bridge collapsed back in August, Sonia Kay Morphew Pitt just couldn't stand the thought of letting a little disaster get in the way of her precious trips.

When the bridge collapsed, Pitt was attending a Harvard University program on terrorist attacks and natural disasters. When she heard the news, did she rush back to her home state to coordinate relief efforts? Why of course not. In fact, she stayed another two days in Massachusetts, and then she flew to Washington to spend eight more days ... all on your dime.

She says she was doing "group project work in DC." The expense report listed her Washington trip as "training." For this "training," Pitt gets paid $40.76 an hour ... that's about $85,000 a year.

This woman has a budget of $5.4 million, part of which comes from the federal government. Clearly she missed the memo that her job/presence was needed to coordinate relief efforts.

Pitt has taken 17 out-of-state trips in the last year. The cost ... $26,400. She also took the liberty of adding pit-stops along the way on her "business trips." These stops include Washington and Las Vegas. All thanks to your tax dollars and the incompetence of government.

Yes ... she's a Democrat.

So despite years of this kind of "service" from bureaucrats in charge of the bridge it is still President Bush's fault that the bridge collapsed. (Insert eyeroll for the internets impaired...and liberals.)

Why did the bridge go for almost two decades without significant repair?
What was so important in Minnesota that one of its busiest and at-risk spans went for almost two decades without being replaced or repaired to the point where it was safe?
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota officials were warned as early as 1990 that the bridge that plummeted into the Mississippi River was "structurally deficient," yet they relied on a strategy of patchwork fixes and stepped-up inspections.

All through the 1990s we heard about our "crumbling infrastructure" and how it was the reason that we had to raise taxes. Well, those taxes were indeed increased...so where did the money go?

Those missing Egyptians....
Given today's news I am even more astonished that the FBI reacted (and continues to react) so indifferently to the news of the missing Egyptian "students" who arrived in the United States a few days ago and then mostly disappeared. The FBI refused at first to release photos of the individuals in question, if you can believe that.

I have said it before and I will continue to say it until something changes: the FBI and CIA need to be taken apart and rebuilt from the ground up. Incidents like this demonstrate that they are simply not responding fast enough or taking threats seriously enough.

Once again it took blogs and bloggers to obtain information that the "authorities" should have been providing from day one.
