He gives those "fat cat bankers" billions in tax breaks.
The U.S. government "quietly" agreed not to collect billions of dollars in potential taxes from Citigroup as part of its deal to allow the bank to repay its taxpayer bailout, The Washington Post reported.
The Internal Revenue Service issued a notice on Friday that extends the benefit to Citi and other companies in which the government owns a stake, the Post reported. Whither the "healthy profit" the administration claimed earlier?
And who can forget Obama's infamous statement: "I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street"?
Suckers!
Meanwhile, your tax obligation (and that of your children and their children...) will soar above 50% to pay for all of Obama's misguided attempts to socialize America.

Yes, you read that correctly. The world's biggest collection of useful fools (MSNBC) took a statement of Al Gore (one of the biggest useful fools overall) that CO2 (I'm assuming he means atmospheric) traps heat is "a principle in physics". MSNBC decided that the statement needed to be conflated to the global warming hoax overall:
Palin also took to Facebook to allege that concerns over global warming are "doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood." Gore said Wednesday that the scientific community has worked intensively on the issue for twenty years. "It's a principle in physics," he told Mitchell. "It's like gravity, it exists." Wow. Is there anyone out there with even a modicum of intelligence who still thinks that man-made global warming isn't a hoax? The actual exchange:
MITCHELL: Well, one of the things that she has written recently on Facebook is that this is doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood that makes the public feel like owning an SUV is a sin against the planet.
GORE: Well, the scientific community has worked very intensively for 20 years within this international process, and they now say the evidence is unequivocal. A hundred and fifty years ago this year was the discovery that CO-2 traps heat. That is a -- a principle in physics.
It's not a question of debate. It's like gravity; it exists. So Gore remains a tool but at least he was confining himself to a non-issue, like whether greenhouse gases trap heat.
Gore also (actually) claimed:
These effects are taking place all over the world exactly as predicted by the scientists.... Which of course is nonsense. Climate predictions from the Church of Climate Change have been as erroneous as the climate gloom and doom predictions of the 1960s and 1970s when they were also preaching the doom of mankind (and citing global cooling as one of the reasons).
But read the transcript for yourself. Gore admits he hasn't read the emails but is certain that they are 100% accurate and pure. :D
MITCHELL: If it's so unequivocal, I've got to ask you about the -- the leak of those e-mails. Even today, Tom Friedman talked about them massaging the evidence. Why would they feel the need to hype the evidence if it's so unequivocal, some scientists, I should say?
GORE: Yeah, I don't think they did. I haven't read all the e-mails that were stolen. They're from -- the most recent one was like 10 years ago.
And what they've done is they've snatched a few phrases completely out of context, and I'll give you an example.
One of the oft-quoted phrases has to do with the scientist saying that a particular study isn't good science and shouldn't be included in the -- international report. Well, that was their view. They exchanged it privately.
The study was included, fully aired, discussed. The weak points were -- were analyzed. The other points were analyzed. So it's an example of how these private exchanges have been blown out of proportion, taken out of context, misrepresented. Wow, denial ain't just a river in Egypt! First of all, Gore's claim that the emails are at least 10 years old is simply a blatant lie. Also, he misdirects over whether a study was included in a report and fails to recognize that the issue there is that the mere notion of censorship was entertained, not that it didn't succeed. The main point of what the emails reveal: there was a concerted effort to censor information critical to the doctrine of man-made climate change.
It is often said that no one should see the ugly reality of how politics or sausages are made. But that's not true in the world of scientific research. Transparency is the goal, and in my experience it is also the norm. With regard to sharing data, my view is that data gathered by public monitoring organizations (e.g., the National Weather Service) should be made available to anyone as soon as technically feasible. Data gathered as part of government-funded research grants to research scientists should probably be available within two to four years even if nothing is published, and should definitely be available upon request as soon as work is published that relies on these data.... In one case, in which someone apparently advised deleting e-mails that might be subject to a Freedom of Information Act request in the U.K., it looks as though scientists may have broken the law, or at least seriously considered doing so. If so, this is not "normal" in scientific circles and it certainly is not acceptable. There you have it. Even people who support the claims of the Church of Climate Change agree that this is a scandal of the greatest magnitude.
Anyone who hides their methods and data is not engaging in science, they are engaging in science fiction.

The worst part is that they know they are hypocrites and they just don't care!
On a host of issues, from health care to climate change the left has demonstrated that it really believes the ends justify the means and the real ends are power for them and their allies at the expense of everyone else—including people who support them but fall out side the "privileged" zone.
On health care the left knows that market forces will deliver the best health care most efficiently but they continue to launch wave after wave of government regulation and layer after layer of bureaucracy because their real end is more control over your lives and your money. After all, their ideas are so good that anyone unwilling to adopt them must go to jail!
On climate change the continued revelations that it is nothing but a hoax on a global scale has not stopped them from arriving in fleets of limousines and private jets to declare how evil fossil-fuel based economies are.
And the very same people who grew up claiming that free speech meant they not only had a right to speak but also to be granted an audience are declaring that free speech that is critical of them is evil and audiences that such speech garners should be forced to listen to their opposing viewpoints.
None of this is new and we've been warned about this road to serfdom: a modern-day slavery that uses economic and political chains to secure the populace and force it to do the bidding of the ruling class.
The reason the left is moving so quickly to ram through these changes is that it knows that open, free elections in 2010 can doom them to defeat. Once these laws are in place it will be extremely difficult to change them (witness the hypocritical demagoguery of Social Security reform during the Bush administration by the left).
The forces of freedom have about eleven months to get their message out and their candidates aligned on a pro-freedom platform.
Elections have consequences. One more victory for the socialists will pretty much seal the fate of this great nation.

The global warming hoax enablers love to claim that "Big Oil" is behind all of the thousands of scientists and lay people who have pointed out the problems endemic to the global warming hoax.
Now we find out (once again thanks to the East Anglia CRU emails) that "Big Oil" was approached to help fund the hoax!
What nefarious scheme did they have? Create fake constraints on supply to drive up the price of energy? Conspire with the snake oil salesmen to co-opt politicians throughout the world and channel tax funds to "green" projects and research controlled by the evil pairing?
One thing is for sure, the only people with less credibility than the global warming hoax perpetrators are the useful fools who have been carrying their water for all these years.

A couple of bloggers who had tenuous (if any) ties to the right side of the aisle have decided to (again) publicly flounce to the left. One is the person behind Little Green Footballs, who has apparently been channeling Keith Olbermann of late. (Lew Rockwell and Alex Jones part of the "right"? Seriously?) Even worse is the references to "climate change denial". Wow, talk about bad timing! The other person is apparently going to make "breaking" from the right an annual event: Andrew Sullivan. (Who still buys into the global warming scam and thinks criticizing Bush era deficits as "exploding" the debt while attempting to cover for Obama is rational.)
Gosh, I don't know what to say but to recognize that you moving (further) to the left increases the collective IQs of both sides of the aisle. Bon Voyage!

Senator Boxer hypocritically claims that "hacked" emails are the real issue, not the continued evidence of the global warming hoax.
You know, if the Democrats had reacted similarly when one of their operatives illegally taped Republican leaders during a cell phone call, or when Governor Palin's email account was hacked I might think she was a little serious about this.
But no, "hacked" emails are only a problem when they expose the fraudulent policies of liberals.
And I put hacked in quotes because there's no evidence that it wasn't something else, like technologically illiterate scientists bureaucrats putting things on a public server or a whistle blower exposing the fraud.
So here's to you, Senator Boxer: you put the "rat" in Democrat!

You shouldn't be surprised to learn that government agents (that is, people working in the quasi-government agencies of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc.) are "earning" millions of dollars for helping to promulgate one of the biggest frauds in American history. Meanwhile, anyone working for a company that received bailout money (whether they wanted it or not) are being forced to work for as little as...zero dollars per year.
Yep, straight out of the "some people are more equal than others" book.
You can expect similar patterns in anything else the government touches. You know, like health care. Government bureaucrats will make millions while doctors and nurses (at least those who are not government agents) will be forced to take pay cuts.
Welcome to the new slavery!

Apparently there isn't even enough "info" in the hate-based "infotainment" at MSNBC these days for their white broadcasters to tell which token minority is gracing their airwaves that day! Can you imagine how many weeks MSNBC would lead with this little item if it had happened on Fox News?
So...when will Oblerloon give up his spot to a minority to demonstrate MSNBC's commitment to affirmative action and show that they're really sorry for for getting it wrong, again?
Don't hold your breath!

It was most enjoyable seeing Paul Krugman throw yet another temper tantrum because people smarter than he is are mounting a successful effort to stop bad policies he happens to support.
To Krugman an effort to oppose a policy he supports is evidence of vast conspiracies (right wing and otherwise), medieval thought processes and/or ironically enough bitter people lashing out.
Paul, you really should look up the word "projection". It will help you understand all those feelings you've been having since the 2000 election.

Being part of the MSM means ignorance is bliss. Specifically:
Ignoring the fact that 1-2 million people came to D.C. to protest policies you agree with.
Ignoring scandals about ACORN because you think the ends justify the means.
Ignoring the fact that Joe Wilson "spoke truth to power" because it came at an inopportune time.
Ignoring opinion polls that show a majority of Americans oppose the Democrat plans for health care.
Don't worry, MSM operators. You keep ignoring us and we'll keep ignoring you! Have fun with those declining market shares! :D

I am of course talking about the Democrat controlled Congress of 1991 which held hearings investigating President Bush's talk to students.
The day after Bush spoke, the Washington Post published a front-page story suggesting the speech was carefully staged for the president's political benefit. "The White House turned a Northwest Washington junior high classroom into a television studio and its students into props," the Post reported.
With the Post article in hand, Democrats pounced. "The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students," said Richard Gephardt, then the House Majority Leader. "And the president should be doing more about education than saying, 'Lights, camera, action.'" Wow, hypocritical much?
Ah, but I forgot the liberal "thought" process: if a Republican does it, it's bad. If they do it, it's good. Silly me!

Yes, you read that right. Vice President Joe Biden is claiming that the stimulus has created a whopping 140,000 jobs and is doing more "than we hoped".
Talk about being out of touch with reality! Biden did not explain how the stimulus was doing more even though the economy is much worse than the Obama administration had predicted it would be if the stimulus bill passed.
Even more disconnected is the brewing claim from the Obama administration that passing a multi-trillion dollar health care spending bill will improve the economy (or that not passing it will make the economy worse).
And we're still waiting for liberal economists to explain why a debt situation at least twice as bad as that during the Bush years (even after adjusting for inflation) is not a problem while the debt situation during the Bush years was labeled a calamity by those same economists.
The American people know snake oil when they see it! The Obamanation spend-all cure-all proposal is being seen for what it really is: a sub-prime offering that will bankrupt the country.

Democrats are infamous for sending out their own ne'er do wells in an attempt to make people think Republicans are mean and nasty.
When they get caught they hope no one will notice.
Hat tip: simarillian
It's like I keep reminding you: the "street battles" in Germany were simply fights between two competing brands of socialism in which both sides claimed they would "save" the country from the violence.
Democrats have socialism all to themselves here in the US so they have to manufacture the violence.

Obama is finally admitting that his spending dwarfs all other Presidents...combined.
The nation would be forced to borrow more than $9 trillion over the next decade under President Obama's policies, the White House acknowledged late Friday, bringing their long-term budget forecast in line with independent estimates.
—Greg Mankiw, via gregmankiw in this entry. The current federal debt stands at a "mere" $7.4 trillion right now. Remember how liberals thought it was a world-ending problem when the past few administrations averaged $1 trillion in debt per four-year term? Yet somehow Obama quadrupling the rate of deficit spending is not only fine, it is of no concern whatsoever.
Heck, some of those Cassandras are even claiming that Obama's level of spending is too low!

I can't decide which is more pathetic: Obama's determination to triple the deficit or his stance that Bush made him do it.
Then again, neither measures up to the level of pathetic that is the MSM in their failure to note that Obama and the Democrats all voted for all this spending this year, after Bush left office.
Speaking of the MSM, where are the headlines about out of control violence in Iraq and the rising death toll in Afghanistan?

Obama and his supporters are pulling out all the stops: calling anyone who disagrees with them racists, claiming that they share an ideological background with Timothy McVeigh, stating that "socialism" is a code word for "nigger", and placing their own supporters with swastika-bedecked signs into opposition protests in an attempt to discredit them, etc.
The question is, once these tactics fail where will the left venture next?
