As it becomes clearer and clearer by the day that the Obama administration is simply making up the number of jobs "saved or created" two things are becoming quite clear.
First, the money given to bureaucracies was simply used to give people raises. So not only were those jobs not "at risk" but the bureaucrats used your tax dollars to further feather their nests. What was that again about a government run health care program not having to "worry" about the "profit" motive? I think waste, fraud and abuse accounts for far more money than the "profit" motive, which actually improves goods and services.
Secondly, this is a clear demonstration of how the administration wishes to "count" people in the coming census. Do they need more Democrat representation in a region? No problem, just invent more Democrat voters! Want to marginalize areas that don't vote for you? No problem, just invent a population decrease for that area!
If you need more evidence just look at the administration attempts to defend these made up numbers as reasonable! For example, when the fact that they counted raises as a job "saved or created" they attempted to defend the notion that a raise was evidence that "part of a job was saved". Worse yet there was no defense at all offered for counting this mythical "part of a job saved" as a whole job. In other areas the number of jobs listed as "saved or created" (usually in union friendly sectors such as teaching and "community organizing") was greater than the number of jobs that existed in the first place. (!)
This is all you are going to get from the most "open and transparent" administration ever. They are simply going to lie to you and expect you to shut up and take it. If the big Democrat loses yesterday didn't send a message to this administration perhaps crushing losses for incumbents in 2010 will.

The alleged journalists who are quickly resorting to the claims that Sarah Palin is "lying" and that her claims have been "debunked" are proving that once again, they lack even the most basic skills necessary to be a competent, ethical journalist.
A quick search of the web finds this about "death panels". Not in theory, but in practice!
The 64-year-old Oregon woman, whose lung cancer had been in remission, learned the disease had returned and would likely kill her. Her last hope was a $4,000-a-month drug that her doctor prescribed for her, but the insurance company refused to pay.
What the Oregon Health Plan did agree to cover, however, were drugs for a physician-assisted death. Those drugs would cost about $50. The Oregon Health Plan is of course a government run health care program.
The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) provides health care coverage to low-income Oregonians through programs administered by the Division of Medical Assistance Programs (DMAP). Currently, more than 380,000 people each month receive health care coverage through the Oregon Health Plan. And here's why they graciously offered to help her end her own life:
The cancer went into remission, but in May, Wagner found it had returned. Her oncologist prescribed the drug Tarceva to slow its growth, giving her another four to six months to live.
But under the insurance plan, she can the only receive "palliative" or comfort care, because the drug does not meet the "five-year, 5 percent rule" -- that is, a 5 percent survival rate after five years. Now everyone who called Palin a liar owes her an apology and needs to explain why language in bills currently being considered that offer "counseling" and "prioritized health care" will not result in similar situations on a federal level.
And for the enablers who try to dismiss the above as an "isolated indicent", it's not!
"I've talked to so many people who have gone through the same problems with the Oregon Health Plan," she said.
Indeed, Randy Stroup, a 53-year-old Dexter resident with terminal prostate cancer, learned recently that his doctor's request for the drug mitoxantrone had been rejected. The treatment, while not a cure, could ease Stroup's pain and extend his life by six months. Once again we see who the real liars are and it's the liberals and their allies in the MSM!
ETA: Those of you who twitter may wish to tweet this to SenArlenSpecter who is apparently tweeting people that such things are a "myth".
Update: Democrats have removed (from Senate versions of health care bills currently being debated) sections that Sarah Palin found problematic and claiming that in doing so they have proven that she was lying about them. Yeah...that's why they were removed. :P How stupid do they think we are? And yes, we notice they are still in the House version and there's this thing called the "conference committee". Naughty, naughty Democrats!
Update 2: Watch the news story, including the fact that the evil drug company gave the woman the medicine for free after the government twice denied her appeals!

Obama and his supporters are pulling out all the stops: calling anyone who disagrees with them racists, claiming that they share an ideological background with Timothy McVeigh, stating that "socialism" is a code word for "nigger", and placing their own supporters with swastika-bedecked signs into opposition protests in an attempt to discredit them, etc.
The question is, once these tactics fail where will the left venture next?

Holy cow the useful fools are attempting to spread this talking point with a straight face!
WASHINGTON – Using better-than-expected jobs numbers to press his top domestic priority, President Barack Obama is arguing that overhauling the health care system is essential to the country's economic well-being. Let's see...how many countries have ridden socialized health care to the top of the economic performance list?
None.
Zip.
Zero.
Zilch.
Nada.

I think we are all aware of the talking points being distributed by the Democrats who are trying to roll back the popular tide against socialized medicine. One of the more illogical chants is that there is no popular opposition and that it is all "astroturf" generated by huge corporations.
But for anyone who knows the history of hypocrisy from the Democrats it should come as no surprise that the real astroturf is coming from the Democrats. Some drug companies who are closely allied with Democrats (both in and out of politics) are being swayed by the prospect of "universal coverage", meaning everyone in the United States becomes a potential customer.
Any health care bill that makes it to Obama's desk is expected to extend health insurance to the nearly 50 million who now lack it. That would mean a huge new pool of potential customers for drug companies and other health care providers. That, in turn, has created an incentive to offer concessions to the White House and lawmakers in hopes of shaping the bill, rather than simply opposing it. I am shocked, shocked I say, to see that Democrats are in bed with corporations!
Shades of the incestuous relationship Democrats have with financial and mortgage entities that helped cause the housing bubble and collapse.
Gosh, this has to end well, doesn't it?!

Obama is still pushing the trillion dollar lie: that he "inherited" a trillion dollar deficit.
The truth is that Obama and the Democrats chose to spend that money. It was passed and signed during the Obama administration after the Democrats in Congress delayed passage of spending bills until they had a larger Democrat majority in Congress in 2009 after the elections.
So sorry, Obama, you were not "handed a $1.3 trillion deficit". You were handed, at worst, a $400 billion deficit (and even that was inflated by panic spending) and chose to spend the rest yourselves. Democrats have controlled Congress since the 2006 elections. They can't blame anyone else for the runaway spending that has happened since then!
Stop lying to America, Obama!

They are the exact words of leading Democrats.
Rep. Alcee Hastings - the impeached Florida judge Nancy Pelosi tried to install as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee until her own party members rebelled - introduced an amendment to the defense authorization bill that gives Attorney General Eric Holder sole discretion to label groups that oppose government policy on guns, abortion, immigration, states’ rights, or a host of other issues. In a June 25 speech on the House floor, Rep. Trent Franks, R-AZ, blasted the idea: “This sounds an alarm for many of us because of the recent shocking and offensive report released by the Department of Homeland Security which labeled, arguably, a majority of Americans as ‘extremists.’”
Another Hastings bill (HR 645) authorizes $360 million in 2009 and 2010 to set up “not fewer than six national emergency centers on military installations” capable of housing “a large number of individuals affected by an emergency or major disaster.” But Section 2 (b) 4 allows the Secretary of Homeland Security to use the camps “to meet other appropriate needs” - none of which are specified. This is the kind of blank check that Congress should never, ever sign. You see, a "conspiracy theory" is an allegation not backed up by facts; like the allegation that President Bush was trampling everyone's Constitutional rights.
Posting quotes from Democrats isn't a conspiracy theory.
Hope this helps!

This time in Vanity Fair.
The author of this alleged piece of journalism doesn't cite a single source. That's all you need to know about alleged journalist Todd Purdum and what he set out to achieve with what only be called a libelous, hate-filled hit piece masquerading as journalism.
Purdum tips his hand by using such obviously false constructs as claiming that multiple people looked up personality disorders in a book instead of just doing a web search. This is part of a heavy-handed attempt to link her to Richard Nixon, the "great Satan" of liberals who love to portray him as a psychotic.
Once again liberals project their own hate and psychological foibles onto others and claim that since they believe it, it must be true.
If I were Governor Palin I'd sue. She may be a public figure but the complete lack of cited sources and statements that say the opposite from people who are willing to go on the record is proof of malicious intent as far as I am concerned.
This is just more evidence that the left fears Governor Palin and will do anything, no matter how unethical or even illegal, in order to destroy her political career.

Alleged journalist Kevin O'Leary tells a few whoppers in his story about the current fiscal mess California finds itself in. Like a good little liberal robot he repeats the myth that is being spread by the left: that Proposition 13 (passed 30 years ago) is to blame for all of it.
Gosh, just what is this monstrous "Proposition 13"?
Why, it was a proposal that Californians voted on that made future tax hikes subject to a 2/3 vote in order to be passed.
That's it?
That's it.
No edicts to kill women, children, the elderly, the poor, minorities, glbts, etc?
Nope.
So..."why is it a problem?", you ask? Well, it's not! The liberals are just whining because they can't convince 2/3 of the state legislatures (who are being held "hostage" by their...constituents!) that tax hikes are a better way to solve the current problem than, say, spending cuts.
About now you must be thinking, "but I and every other household I know of cuts spending when income goes down." Yes, yes we do. But leftists believe that government is special. So special it deserves your money even when is hasn't earned it and (especially) when it has spent it so foolishly it finds itself in debt.
Not content with lying about Proposition 13 and the current fiscal crisis California finds itself in, O'Leary also tosses in some lies about Social Security being "assaulted" by "conservatives", Ronald Reagan being evil (what else?) because he outed welfare queens" (Dorothy Woods, anyone?) and whether the state should step in with guaranteed incomes for people who either can't work or choose not to work because money would be falling from the sky if those evil conservatives would simply agree to be taxed more.
O'Leary also fails to inform readers why Proposition 13 passed in the first place: because inflation and taxes tied to inflation (like property taxes) were eroding the wealth and incomes of people so quickly in the 1970s that they were getting poorer even while they made more money. To stop such insanity they made automatic tax hikes a thing of the past. And wouldn't you know it...California boomed for more than two decades before this allegedly caused a problem. And with that boom came...higher spending. Not just on residents and for residents but also on illegal aliens and for illegal aliens. What, O'Leary didn't mention that? I am shocked, shocked I say!
All in all, a typical article in a mainstream media publication! It states a conclusion that can't be supported by the facts, lies about the issues surrounding the matter, lies about more issues the author wishes to rant about and then tosses in some unrelated anecdotes in an attempt to pursued you by appealing to your emotional side.
That's pretty much the antithesis of real journalism.

Our local school librarian is hosting an event to help kids learn how to see through advertising. Something which I agree is a good goal and I even helped with a project at the school associated with that topic.
This new event, however, being held at the school but apparently not associated with it (it is after all summer break) attempts to blame Ronald Reagan and "deregulation" for all that is wrong with advertising.
Yes, Ronald Reagan traveled back in time to 1978, 1979 and 1980 (before he was elected for those of you who had liberal teachers) to force a Democrat controlled Congress and a Democrat President to pass legislation that: forbid the FTC from using arbitrary standards like "fairness" to ban advertising. Yep, that was the "deregulation" that the film blames Reagan for. It also claims that Reagan's focus on consumer fraud (OMG evil!) in the 1980s was further "deregulation" that "allowed" evil advertisers to advertise to kids.
Because, you know, having a show sponsored by a product aimed at children never happened before Ronald Reagan became President.
It's too bad the creators of the film didn't just stick to the facts. They would have widespread support for teaching kids how to see through advertising if only the didn't try to blame one of the two major political parties for "creating" the problem.

Obama's attempt to portray Republicans as anti-science fails.
But the picture is far more complex than just a line sloping down from President Reagan to President Bush.
Truth is, since peaking in 1964, federal funding on sciences as a percentage of GDP has gone down under every President, Democratic or Republican, except for Ronald Reagan. I love how Reagan just keeps looking good year after year!
Of course, this won't stop the usual suspects from repeating the claim, even when they know it has been debunked.

Once again alleged reporters from TIME make a blatantly false accusation about the Bush administration that is easily disproven with a two-minute web search.
Because so many law enforcement resources were thrown at terrorism during the Bush Administration, federal real estate fraud cases often took a back seat. Last year, even as the crisis became apparent, the Bush Justice Department still rejected a congressional recommendation to create a mortgage fraud task force. Except that:
FBI to Focus On Area Mortgage Loan Fraud Agency to Host Investigators, Law Enforcement Officials
By Carrie Johnson and Tomoeh Murakami Tse Washington Post Staff Writers Thursday, December 6, 2007; Page D01
The FBI today will launch a mortgage fraud task force in its Washington field office, joining a widening net of state and local investigators digging into the market crisis. And
Cracking down on mortgage scammers The Justice Department is going after real estate fraud. The 400-plus people charged nationwide racked up $1 billion in losses. Here's what they are finding.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- While Congress and the Bush administration are focusing on bailing out struggling homeowners and financial companies, another group of federal officials are going after the people who helped propel the country into the mortgage crisis.
The FBI's Mortgage Fraud Task Force, which works with federal, state and local law enforcement officials across the United States, has ramped up its work. Its targets: mortgage brokers, lenders, appraisers and professionals who defraud homeowners and bankers. ( even more under the cut... ) And...I'm sure you get the picture. What the alleged reporters at TIME hope you will do is a) take their word for it and b) accept the premise that if Bush wouldn't create a whole new bureaucracy he must not be doing anything at all.

You know it is going to be mentioned in every news report about drug wars and Mexico: the false claim that the US is the number one supplier of guns to the drug lords.
Mexico is the main hub for cocaine and other drugs entering the U.S., and the United States is the primary source of guns used in Mexico's drug-related killings. The truth, of course, is that the drug lords prefer machine guns which they get from places like China and the rest of Latin/South America.
But you can't use that fact to try to take guns away from Americans, can you?

As I have mentioned, this is nothing more than a scare campaign designed to increase support for banning guns. Not only that, the "90%" figure is a lie.
There's just one problem with the 90 percent "statistic" and it's a big one:
It's just not true.
In fact, it's not even close. The fact is, only 17 percent of guns found at Mexican crime scenes have been traced to the U.S. Oops.
But now you know that on yet another issue the Democrats and the Obama administration are willing to lie in order to get their way.
