The president’s decision to attend the international climate conference in Copenhagen needs to be reconsidered in light of the unfolding Climategate scandal. The leaked e-mails involved in Climategate expose the unscientific behavior of leading climate scientists who deliberately destroyed records to block information requests, manipulated data to “hide the decline” in global temperatures, and conspired to silence the critics of man-made global warming....
Policy should be based on sound science, not snake oil.... But while we recognize the effects of changing water levels, erosion patterns, and glacial ice melt, we cannot primarily blame man’s activities for the earth’s cyclical weather changes. The drastic economic measures being pushed by dogmatic environmentalists won’t change the weather, but will dramatically change our economy for the worse.
Policy decisions require real science and real solutions, not junk science and doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood that capitalizes on the public’s worry and makes them feel that owning an SUV is a “sin” against the planet....

The real lesson in this story is not quite what the Obamas wish it to be.
While they are going on and on about how wonderful a garden is the real lesson learned here is that someone else did all the work for the garden to produce all that wonderful food but in the end it was the Obamas who benefited from it and decided where the food would go.
The Obamas, of course, would have you believe that the garden simply tended itself and that after Michelle planted a few seeds the rest magically were sewn into the ground and bore fruit a few months later.
Just like those money trees the evil rich have.
For those paying attention the actual moral of the story is that gardens bear fruit best when well-tended. And the best way to have a well-tended garden is to give someone a vested interest in the products of the garden. This concept is often referred to as the "profit motive".
Something to chew on, even if you are an Obama.

Does anyone else find it ironic that after the latest troop increase in Afghanistan President Obama now has more troops deployed in that region than President Bush ever did?
I hope he keeps that peace prize polished!

When the left runs out of false accusations to try and pin on the opponents of Obama's schemes they'll resort to claiming that Obama is doing "moral" work and is on a "holy" mission and if you oppose him it's the same as committing a sin.

Once again ACORN is at the center of voter registration fraud, this time in Miami, Florida.
How many times does ACORN have to be caught doing this before the Department of Justice brings charges against the organization? How many fraudulent registrations make it through, enabling massive vote fraud?

Apparently President Obama thinks he can end the debate on health care/insurance simply by decreeing that he is ready for it to be passed.ABC's Ann Compton reports: Calling this the "9th inning" for health care reform, White House senior advisor David Axelrod tells ABC NEWS President Obama is getting in the game and is "at the point where he can close this" debate.
Oh well, excuse us, Mr. President! We simple citizens are under the delusion that you politicians work for us and it is our desires and needs that must be met, not yours.
By all means, instruct us on what it is we are going to decide and how we are going to decide it! Guide the simple folk to the fountain of knowledge where we may all drink from the waters of enlightenment!

As soon as I heard about Bill's mission I knew that Hillary was not going to be pleased.
KINSHASA, Congo – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's temper flared on Monday when a Congolese university student asked for her husband's thinking on an international matter.
"My husband is not secretary of state. I am," an obviously annoyed Clinton replied sharply.
She's realizing that Obama is successfully marginalizing her. I predict a post-mid-term election resignation!

Obama is still pushing the trillion dollar lie: that he "inherited" a trillion dollar deficit.
The truth is that Obama and the Democrats chose to spend that money. It was passed and signed during the Obama administration after the Democrats in Congress delayed passage of spending bills until they had a larger Democrat majority in Congress in 2009 after the elections.
So sorry, Obama, you were not "handed a $1.3 trillion deficit". You were handed, at worst, a $400 billion deficit (and even that was inflated by panic spending) and chose to spend the rest yourselves. Democrats have controlled Congress since the 2006 elections. They can't blame anyone else for the runaway spending that has happened since then!

It's becoming clearer and clearer to even the most strident apologist for the president that Obama doesn't know much about anything. His recent gaffes on history and current events, plus stunts like claiming a million in hypothetical savings somehow offsets trillions in new spending demonstrate that he's not the sharpest tool in the box.
Hillary, as the smartest woman ever to live, must be *headdesk*ing on a daily basis. :D

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.
Well, 52% did. :D And now they are realizing what the rest of us realized all along.
Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East, way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future.
The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill -- a great idea in theory -- was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.
Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.
Barack Obama, to put it plainly, is simply one of those people who always believed that there is a free lunch out there and all we need to do to get it is force the evil rich to give up some of their ill-gotten gains.
Except, of course, for the rich leftists. They are more equal than the rest of us.

Tonight President Obama claimed that his subprime health care scheme is needed to control the deficit.
Hmmm...that sounds suspiciously like a credit card addict claiming that "just one more new card" will solve their problems, especially when that new card is obtained by committing to a lifetime of huge payments.
I think it is safe to say that competition always results in lowers prices; both in the short term and the long term. Given that, where is the competitive pressure for the government to innovate and offer lower prices? The fact is there isn't. The only thing the government will do is ration the supply of health care in order to meet arbitrary budget concerns.
It is also more than a bit disingenuous for Obama to spend $2 trillion and then cite deficit concerns as a reason to rush headlong into socialized health care despite all the evidence that it does not perform as advertised.
ETA: A majority oppose Obama's health care schemes.
