You know, where the judiciary inserts itself into the realms and powers delegated to the other branches of government...like deciding who is an enemy of the United States.
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A federal judge struck down President Bush's authority to designate groups as terrorists, saying his post-Sept. 11 executive order was unconstitutionally vague, according to a ruling released Tuesday.

The Humanitarian Law Project had challenged Bush's order, which blocked all the assets of groups or individuals he named as "specially designated global terrorists" after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

I expect al Qaeda will be suing us soon, looking for a similar ruling.

What is the problem with judges today? If they want to be President or a member of Congress then they should run for office!

It is one thing to say the law in general is "too vague", but to strike down specific instances of groups ruled to be terrorist groups by the government is exceeding the boundaries of the judiciary. That is the domain of the legislative and executive branches.

Free speech under assault in Washington
From the land that brought you the stolen gubernatorial election comes this crackpot ruling from an activist judge:
OLYMPIA — Foes of Washington's gas-tax increase have lost a pair of court cases, but say their efforts to overturn the 9.5-cent-per-gallon increase remain on track and they expect their initiative to make the November ballot.

The first 3 cents of the increase took effect Friday, added to the state's existing 28-cent-per-gallon tax.

Also on Friday, Thurston County Superior Court directed the critics to fully disclose their donors' identities immediately or forego their contributions, and ordered that KVI Radio report the value of two talk-show hosts' comments promoting Initiative 912.

Why were these people singled out? This begs the question about who isn't at risk:
Brian Maloney, a former Seattle-area talk-show host who now runs a national blog on talk-radio issues, raises this question: If talk-radio comments count as political contributions, why not newspaper editorials? Or Web sites?

This ruling essentially silences everyone except the MSM and paid political ads. The court offered no explanation why two guys and a microphone are substantially different than the New York Times running daily stories that advance a cause or issue.

Indeed, this all came about because establishment big tax supporters complained. Do we really want to go back to the days where the MSM controls what you see and hear?

This ruling is ludicrous. It would put the Founding Fathers at odds with the "law" because they published anonymous pamphlets attacking politicians and political stances.

It is time to fight fire with fire. Superior Court Judge Chris Wickham needs to be impeached for failing to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. He and every other judge who fails to uphold the First Amendment (or any other part of the Constitution) are clearly not fit to serve. Has there been a ruling so out of touch with reality since the court system ruled that people were property? I don't think so!

It is time to stand up to this assault on free speech. Thanks a lot, Senator McCain! You better be writing a repeal of your stupid law ASAP!

I have said it before and I will say it again. You can have my blog when you pry the keyboard from my cold, dead fingers.
