Obama wins North Carolina, Indiana too close to call
Barack Obama is projected to win the North Carolina primary, adding to his victory in Guam earlier this week. The race in Indiana is too close to call, indicating that Hillary has some electability questions of her own.

Recent economic news is as equally disheartening to Democrats as the economy showed GDP growth and job increases. Both are signs that the economy is unlikely to collapse into a recession in the near future. This makes plans for a Democrat run featuring a recessionary economy more difficult. (But as 1992 demonstrated the Democrats can turn just about any economy into recession with the cooperation of the MSM.)

Meanwhile more super delegates are being created. Newly minted delegates often find themselves being contested by both sides until they declare they are for one candidate or another. It is clear that the Democrat Party is not going to let the voters decide the election. (No surprise there, eh?)

In an odd move John McCain has started running general election style TV ads. Unless he is merely testing how each commercial plays in front of various audiences in test markets he's wasting a lot of money by running them this early. He should talk to President Dean about how well that strategy worked for him in 2004.

People have mused over the exact ratio of wise to crack for years.

Tsk tsk tsk. Hilary won Indiana.

I think McCain's doing it just right. Test the waters when it's still too far from the election for any but the most grievous errors to have an effect. He's looking for information at this point, not votes.

I am easily amused

I just think it's kind of neat that this year, one can actually hear and read phrases like, "X won in Guam."

The comparison to Howard Dean's 2004 presidential run is misplaced. Dean's general election strategy was flawed because he flopped in Iowa and failed to win the nomination. However, McCain is the Republican nominee, hence it is quite appropriate to take a general election tact.

'Cause it was the Democrats who prevented the voters from deciding the last election huhu.

Democrats have a long history of suppressing voter turnout—especially in the South.

A Random Reagan Quote

"We need true tax reform that will at least make a start toward restoring for our children the American Dream that wealth is denied to no one, that each individual has the right to fly as high as his strength and ability will take him. . . . But we cannot have such reform while our tax policy is engineered by people who view the tax as a means of achieving changes in our social structure."
