Immediate withdrawal would be bad...according to the Democrats?

Apparently the Democrats forgot to run an internal consistency check before they threw out the "immediate withdrawal" trial balloon.

Leading Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, have stated that immediate withdrawal would be bad for America.

Looks like the Democrats are not completely lost to the Dark Side. Dang.

She's no idiot. She's playing the cards she needs to in order to get where she wants to be.

It appears the Republicans are going to make it easy for her, too.

It's just political expediency. They're trying to be sheep in hawk's clothing.

it kind of strikes me how they want to do "whats best for america" yet they insist that all the world's problems are caused by america... what gives?

also, i think pulling out now would be a hell of a lot worse for iraq then for us (immediately anyway)

Well, in general they believe that America, when led by Republicans, is the source of all evil. When led by Democrats, America is a Kyoto-signing, non-Iraq bombing, bin Laden arresting world peace machine.

Oh, wait.... That's just the rewrite.

Gah! I read this on Yahoo last night and sort of went, o_O What the hell? Who is she trying to impress, here? I still think she's trying to earn votes from Repubs when she runs in `08. Isn't that a freaky thought.

There needs to be a weather station setup to forecast Hillary's political leans. One week she is nice and supportive. Next week she is outspoken and angry. She and her pimp, I mean husband, are both pathetic and scary.

That's ok, give our troops a few more big wins, and they'll be beside themselves with grief in no time.

immediate withdrawal

The only people I've heard talking about "immediate withdrawal" is the Republicans. They are claiming any plan to work our way out of Iraq is "immediate withdrawal". I guess it's easier to argue with your enemy when you put words in their mouths. Setting up a timetable or a plan for getting our troops out of Iraq doesn't constitute immediate withdrawal.

As for Hillary, if she is nominated by the Dems, you can pretty much count on a Republican president in 2008 no matter how bad Bush screws up.

Anyone care to comment on Bob Graham's statements?

What? Did you miss the recent hue and cry when Representative Bob Murtha (D-PA) said we need to bring the troops home now?
"This is the immediate redeployment of American forces because they have become the target," said Rep. John Murtha, D-Pennsylvania, one of Congress' most hawkish Democrats.--AP news story.

Have you missed the moveon.org ads claiming the reason that every US serviceman is not home enjoying a holiday meal is because of President Bush?
