Did he wear his Home Depot apron?

I think he's learned his lesson about that! Go there first, then claim you've been there. :D

Why does a photo op get kudos?
reality_hammer From: [info]reality_hammer Date: November 14th, 2009 09:58 pm (UTC) (Link to this entry)
My first instinct was that this was a mere photo-op but if that were the case I think they would have done it during the week and in conjunction with a push for "free" health care so people wouldn't go bankrupt in the evil for-profit system.

By the tone of the article, it sounds kinda like he was trying to avoid a photo op. Which in itself is rather refreshing.

Which, of course, is the spin of the story. Come on, do you really buy it? Especially from Biden?
luprand From: [info]luprand Date: November 17th, 2009 04:42 am (UTC) (Link to this entry)
I guess I'm willing to believe it, for the sake of optimism.

I'd say that's rather the way I'd prefer the government help the needy.

Having not been in that situation, of course, there's not much else I can say.

Kudos indeed

According to my mom, who says she's read up about this, Mr. Biden and his wife are the kind of people who do, in their private life, volunteer in soup kitchens. It's entirely possible to be an ignorant fool, chock-full of asinine ideas, and still be a decent human being.

One day people will look back at our quaint cultural parochialism that assumed that only cleverness (and cleverness of a certain glib stripe) was a virtue.

A Random Reagan Quote

"It is the Soviet Union that runs against the tide of history.... [It is] the march of freedom and democracy which will leave Marxism-Leninism on the ash heap of history as it has left other tyrannies which stifle the freedom and muzzle the self-expression of the people."
